Getting to know you! #VR.

Green GreenDear Diary, It’s been a long time since we spoke. Like the Ghana man will say, “Long time no see”. I’ve been good. Busy but good. Yes I went back home, again! Haha! Am nuts! I was laughed at because I said I missed the crazy. Who misses crazy? NE was a peaceful vacation. No traffic, no trotros, no people packed in the streets, no noise, no street hawkers, in fact no nothing! Smooth was the word, but I came back. Because something was missing. Lol! GH is addictive!

It’s been a little over a month since I came back home again. But as am smiling and telling you this, I met someone equally addicted to the craziness. He missed the “Kofi broke Man” too. Haha, you know who you are, Mr. Kofi broke man eater and his ballerina. Lol! What is Kofi broke man? Well, it’s just a GH name for roasted ripped plantains with roasted peanuts. OMG, do we have some delicacies.

Yes, I said WE, I have officially agreed to include myself, ha, all 30% of me, since they still will not accept the other 70% which at this point I am very glad to keep. Crazy people in a crazy country! You try to tell me I don’t belong or I belong some, and I will choose when I belong and when I don’t.

Dear Diary, this week, I travelled to the Volta Region (VR) for work, and for the first time I saw Volta in a different lime light. What’s the big deal, well, my roots are from VR, and when I die at 101 after stressing the living day lights out of my grand babies, that is where my resting place will be. Am a proud Voltarian too, except for I am a clueless proud one, so this week I say thank you to all who made this trip possible and enjoyable. There are some very cool places out there. Rocklyne Hotel, thank you for the very well-seasoned Tilapia and plain rice with some salad, OMG! Then, that Banku with Fetri Detsi. (Banku with Okro Soup). This soup was so green, it’s what the Doctor will recommend. Okro, Garden Eggs, some Gboma leaves, green peppers, fresh fish, Kobi, dried Fish and push it all down with some Malta Guinness and you will equally say “the Lord is my Shepherd”.

I met the chief of a village that actually kept to their time. OMG! GH time does not exist in Nyive. RESPECT! I met some nice people who did not know the word Dum-Sor. I wonder why? Could it be because the election results are dependent on them? Hmmmm! Well, the food was good, that’s all I have to say. Let’s not talk about the view at Sky Plus Hotel, and when at the end of the day, an old family friend, comes to pick you out for dinner and it’s another grilled fish, but different taste, you know there is a God and he created these people so well, that they put their foot in the food they cook. This is VR, this is GH and This Is Africa TIA!
